Today we move from the Golden Nugget, down to the strip to spend three days at the Aria. Before we leave, we headed to the 4QUEENS to Magnolias to use up our remaining comps and have breakfast. We had pretty standard breakfasts, see below, but they were delicious and a fair price.

We electronically check into our room at the Aria in the morning using the MGM RESORTS app.

TIP – If you are staying at an MGM Casino, you need to load and sign up to the MGM RESORTS app. It makes check in and check out very easy.

Within 2 hours of electronically checking in, we were notified via the MGM Resorts App that our room was ready! So we packed up, called a Lyft and headed over to the Aria. If you are curious, the Lyft from the Golden Nugget to the Aria was $13.35 without tip.

TIP – Before you book rides, especially when not in Vegas and doing trip planning and trying to get a feel for how much Lyft rides are, you can use this web site to get fare estimates

When we arrived at the Aria, we attempted to use the MGM Resort app and our hotel room “blue tooth” hotel key, but it failed and we noticed other people struggling in the elevators and rooms trying to make that work; so we went and got old fashion printed keys that worked fine.

We had a base room at the Aria, but it was huge spacious, and clean. The main issue was the bathroom had an odd configuration where two sets of glass doors would hit each other if both opened. It was clumsy; not a smart design.

One cool feature was the room safe being built into one of the bed site table shelves. That was a great idea!

Once unpacked, we headed to our favorite strip casino, the Cosmopolitan. The casino is awesome, food choices excellent, and spectacular rooms with balconies, strip views, and soaker tubs, and they are huge!

Our goal was to get enough gambling and points in to hopefully get some room comps for our next trip.

I am not a huge fan of the strip. It is ok, but I love Fremont Street for its old school vibe and super easy access to anything and everything within 5 or 10 minutes. The walk from the Aria to the Cosmo was a convoluted up and down and around walk with multiple ways to get there. How would anyone know that? I am all about walking to get exercise while in Vegas to burn the calories of all the good food we eat, but I do like to get where I am going preferably in a straight line and not needing a map and traversing escalators.

After some gambling at the Cosmo, no big wins or losses, so we headed for a walk to the Luxor for supper, to use our MLIFE mobile app casino comps at Diablos.

TIP – If you are using the MGM MLIFE mobile app casino comps, make sure to go early because you have to first line up and the casino’s MLIFE Rewards desk to get the comp loaded onto your MLIFE card. Sometimes this can be 30 to 60 minutes depending on the line up. And the comps are only good for 24 hours. I could see you going at 10pm at night and loading up 2 or 3 for the next day, but you need to go to each casino to load up the comps

There was a 30 to 60 minute line up at Diablos, a common occurrence in Vegas now. So we decided to get take out and ordered fish tacos and chips and guacamole. There was no where to sit, so we went outside and sat on the grass in front of the casino. The food was ok, but not great. Without the MLIFE coupon this would have been a negative experience.

We headed back towards the Aria, stopping The Park MGM because we both had 2 match play vouchers, a $25 and a $15 dollar one. I won both hands and won $135 and Twila won a hand a lost a hand; but we both made money!

Tried a few slots there, but no luck.

The MLIFE Comps we use for our hotel comps are great because your MLIFE card and comps work in ANY MGM Casino!

That was enough walking for the day so we headed back to our room at the Aria.
