Today is our last day in Vegas. We went down for our morning coffee at the Patisserie, then headed back up to the room as we needed to check out by noon.
We checked out electronically and then took our bags to the main level Aria concierge and headed back to the Cosmo to gamble, eat, and build up comps!
The slots were definitely tighter today at the Cosmo, as compared with last night; we were loosing fast so we decided to go get something to eat, as our flight was at 5:35 PM and we get to McCarren airport 3 hours early. Normally things to well, like 95% of the time, but the few times we have encountered issues, you need the 3 hours and we had no idea about COVID requirements on the way back.
TIP – Try to go to McCarren airport at least 2.5 hours before your flight for flights back to Canada/International, I prefer 3 hours so there is no rushing and you can always go duty free shopping, eat, drink, or gamble at the airport.
We ate at one of our favorites, Hattie Bs Nashville Chicken.
TILV FAVORITE – Hattie Bs Nashville Chicken on the second floor food court at the Cosmo is one of the best places to get hot fried chicken. The portions are huge, so you can usually share one order and add a side dish or a couple pieces of chicken. We usually a base meal and then add some tenders. I like it HOT! There are many different heat levels.
We headed back to the Aria to get our bags and call a Lyft.
It take us quite a while in our hotel room to download our negative COVID tests and then upload them and fill in the many questions on the required ARRIVECAN mobile app.
When we arrived at McCarren airport, and checked in with Westjet, there was not a lot of emphasis on the test results. We headed to US Security and cleared quite fast. From the time we arrived at the airport to walked up to our gate was probably 30 minutes. Much faster than I thought it would be; back to normal McCarren airport efficiency standards, which we love …
Flight home was uneventful and on time.
Once we landed in Calgary, we were hit with numerous check points to verify COVID requirements. We were checked entering the customs hall to fill out our electronic customers declaration “form”, then again after we had the printed receipt. Then we picked up our luggage, and we were checked again leaving the hall. Then once again turning the corner outside we were checked. Each “check point” really seemed to be where we could “randomly” be pulled over for yet another COVID test; luckily it did not happen.
And that was the end of the trip and off we went home to unpack!
